Availability of Q2 2018 Post-Acute Care Utilization and Performance Data

Excel Health customers leverage the software solution to identify new referral sources, track referral patterns and benchmark quality performance metrics against peers in their service areas. Summary of Q2 2018 Post-Acute Activity

    • Medicare Beneficiaries Growth: The number of Medicare beneficiaries grew to a total of 58.2 million, +1.1% growth over the same period last year. The increase is due to growth in Medicare Advantage plan participants, +6.4%, while Medicare Fee For Service patient growth decreased slightly, -1.5%.

    • Hospice Growth: The number of hospice patient admissions grew to a total of 335,200, +3.5% growth over the same period last year. Hospice has consistently seen higher growth rates than home health admissions.

    • Home Health Growth: The number of home health patient admissions grew to a total of 981,100 for the period ending Q1 2018, +1.6% growth over the same period last year. While patient admits typically spike during Q1, this year saw the highest numbers in history as compared to Q1 2017: 965,500 and Q1 2016: 966,000. *
