Increasing Hospice Awareness

On average, less than 50% of Medicare Fee-for-Service beneficiaries receive hospice care, as reported in our latest Industry Trend Report. There have been positive developments in the past year, with an increase of 3.5 days in national ALOS from Q1 2018 to Q1 2019. There is still a huge variance in ALOS among states, however, ranging from a high of 105.4 days in Utah to a low of 35.8 days in Wyoming.

These statistics underscore the fact that there is still a need to increase hospice awareness and educate providers, patients, and their families on the benefits of hospice. Watch as three hospice leaders share their best practices and ideas on:

  • Strategies for promoting hospice education
  • Challenges to overcome
  • New ideas for 2020
