About LeighAnn Gawel
LeighAnn Gawel serves as Vice President of People & Talent at Trella Health, where she leads the company’s people strategy to support business growth, organizational effectiveness, and a high-performing culture. With more than 15 years of Human Resources experience, LeighAnn is a strategic and execution-focused leader known for building scalable people programs, strengthening leadership teams, and guiding organizations through growth and change.
Since joining Trella in 2021, LeighAnn has played a key role in evolving the company’s PeopleOps function into a strategic driver of business performance and employee experience. She has led initiatives spanning talent strategy, total rewards, performance management, organizational design, and global workforce partnerships. Her leadership has helped the company navigate major milestones, including investment activity, acquisitions, and organizational transformation, while contributing to the company’s recognition as an employer of choice by Modern Healthcare, Inc. Magazine, and Top Workplaces.
Prior to Trella, LeighAnn held HR and talent leadership roles at Medecision, Marsh & McLennan Agency (Trion), Drug Plastics & Glass Co., and TEKsystems. Through these organizations, she discovered her passion for the healthcare technology sector because of the opportunity to support mission-driven work that has a meaningful impact beyond the business itself. At Trella, that purpose comes to life through building and supporting teams whose work helps enable better healthcare decisions, stronger care coordination, and improved outcomes for patients and families.
LeighAnn is focused on the role AI will play in redefining work and the employee experience. She is excited about the responsibility to help shape how Trella adopts AI through thoughtful governance, workforce enablement, and change leadership, ensuring technology enhances performance without losing sight of the human experience at work.
LeighAnn graduated cum laude from The Pennsylvania State University in three years with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Psychology. She is SHRM-CP certified and has earned multiple HR Business Partner and Talent Acquisition credentials from Human Capital Institute.
Outside of work, LeighAnn’s passion for coaching and development extends into her personal life. A former athlete, she now spends much of her time supporting her sons in youth sports — encouraging teamwork, confidence, resilience, and growth. That same coaching mindset shapes her leadership approach, fueling her passion for helping employees, leaders, and teams reach their full potential while creating environments where people can do their best work.
